The Thai Chamber of Commerce is optimistic about Thailand’s economy in 2567, with a notable recovery trend. Technology products, particularly in warehouse and transportation management systems, are driving growth, pushing GDP up to nearly 3%. Thailand’s role as a regional transportation hub is key. Collaborating with Koelnmesse, announces LogiMAT Southeast Asia – LogiFOOD Southeast Asia 2024 expo, transforming the event’s format, and relocating it to a new venue at Bitec Bangna, set for October 16th-18th, 2024. Expecting over 6,000 attendees from 20 countries.
Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, revealed an overview of the Thai economy showing signs of recovery. He forecasts a 2.8 to 3.3% GDP growth for Thailand in 2024, up from 2023. The export sector is expected to benefit from partner economies’ recovery and the government’s proactive foreign policies targeting 10 countries, boosting exports by 2-3% annually. This trend will fuel growth in technology, warehouse systems, and transportation management sectors, becoming crucial drivers of the economy. Thailand’s strength lies in its comprehensive transportation hub in the region.
The Thai government’s infrastructure development aims to boost the country’s transportation and logistics sectors for enhanced competitiveness. This includes rail, road, water, and air transportation to ensure seamless connectivity and align with regional logistics growth. Thailand’s demand for high-quality warehouse facilities has surged, driven significantly by the pivotal role of the e-commerce market, which has reshaped the landscape of Thai logistics. This transformation became evident during Covid-19, as e-commerce expanded by 26% annually over three years, driving significant growth in warehouse leasing.
The warehouse industry is a vital sector that acts as an economic engine, capable of stimulating a country’s overall income. Currently, warehouse systems are transitioning to intelligent systems that integrate computers, technology, and automation to support businesses. This transformation reduces costs, boosts efficiency, and enhances competitiveness. As a result, Thailand’s logistics industry is rapidly expanding.
Given all these factors, the Thai Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of the logistics industry, which shows promising growth trends. With the goal of supporting Thailand as a hub or center for comprehensive regional transportation, has collaborated with Koelnmesse to organize the LogiMAT Southeast Asia – LogiFOOD Southeast Asia 2024 exhibition from October 16th-18th, 2024, at BITEC Bangna Exhibition Center. This event is significant in presenting new technologies suitable for fostering the steady growth of intralogistics businesses in Thailand.
